Are you connected?

My hub makes fun of the amount of online social networks I'm a part of...twitter, facebook, flickr, etc...but they each serve a different purpose and I try to keep it reasonable and limit the number of sites I join. However, I have recently fallen in love with tumblr

I'm constantly bookmarking sites or saving blog posts in my google reader--but I'm such a visual person that when an image catches my eye online I want to snatch it up (I compare it to ripping out magazine pages--the old fashion way). Tumblr does just that and even creates a link back to the original source...magic!

Above is an archive of all the posts I've made so far.

This may be old news to some of you guys -- but I am in love. It's acts as my virtual pin-up board for inspiration. If you currently blog on tumblr, do you have feedback on how you use it?

That is a most excellent idea if I ever read one. I've been trying to figure out a way to marry my blog and tumblr. And using it as an inspiration board is a mighty fine solution. Photos that I don't necessarily want to blog about, blah blah.

Thanks!

This is such a good idea ! I tried for a while to use tumblr as a blog, but it wasn't practical at all, I guess it's really made for pictures only.
Isn't the archive page awesome ? That's why I started using it.
*Like your blog very much by the way, I'll try to comment more often !

yes! pretty much like weheartit.com ... i'm so out of the loop! but i believe it has a little more flexibility--it acts more like a blog.

this sounds like a great idea as i'm just starting a design-ish blog of my own because i had a desktop folder of lovely images & nothing to do with them.

so i signed up, however, i can't quite figure out how to save photos from other sites. do you have to save it to your desktop first? and then upload it as a jpeg? or is there as easier/one-step way without the middleman? i tried to "use a URL instead" but the photo kept having an error loading, so i thought maybe that wasn't right ...

thanks in advance for your help!

cheers

This sounds exactly like what I need! I am checking it out pronto after dinner. Thanks for the tip — I am the slowest to join + figure out these social networks (I finally joined Facebook last month, probably the last person in America). Tumblr sounds like a super useful way to organize my favorites. Thanks, Whitney!
