DIY Skinny Jeans

I saw this DIY skinny jeans tutorial on Freshly Picked and knew I had to try it out. I had the perfect pair of boot-cut jeans by Paper Denim & Cloth that I couldn't part with but didn't necessarily enjoy the cut. I even tried to hem them at one point and it went terribly wrong. So, I gave this technique a go and was so pleased with the results.

That is SO cool! This will be the perfect weekend project! Especially because its so cold here in NYC, now I can make my jeans skinny and tuck them into warm boots!

Thanks!

Question about this: did you new the new leg seam just on one side (outside) of the jeans as shown in the tutorial? I don't have a pair of bootcuts handy, but it seems like they would flare out from the knee on both sides, necessitating a new seam on both the inside and outside of the leg. But maybe I am imagining the cut wrong. Regardless, it's a great trick and one I will definitely try; I have the same issue with a pair of J Brands I would like to be more straight-legged. Thanks!

They turned out so cute! I've actually tried this with a pair of $5 dollar sale rack jeans that were great except the cut, and now I wear them all the time.

That looks awesome!! I want to try that too, but I am not good with a needle and thread... Maybe I'll get my mom to help :)

These look great!

Did you stitch up the outside? And how far did you go with the taper?
