A Man's Shirt

I have been saying for months I would attempt to make the hub a collared-shirt and this weekend I finally did! It was so nice to be able to fit someone besides myself -- I'm pretty happy with the results and so is the hub. I used the Simplicity 5366 pattern, and by the way, just like the men's section is smaller in retail stores so is the sewing pattern section.

Really nice job. Men's clothes seem harder because you need to be so precise on the tailoring, and yours looks great.

Looks great! I'm curious - how long did this take you?

As a guy, I've got to say that I think I'd prefer it with a traditional single pocket without the flaps. I love the look of the shirt however!

Good grief! It looks amazing! I can sew on a button...that's about the extent of my sewing skills. So a stinkin' shirt is just incredible! Good Job!

thanks so much everyone for the kind comments! :) Lauren -- I had everything cut out months ago but finally started working on it Saturday, got everything complete on Sat but finished the buttonholes/buttons on Sunday. So I guess a little over a day.
