Our next move

We've been planning for this move for several months now -- and we're finally less than a month away. I'm headed to Savannah College of Art & Design for graduate school and the last time I talked about it on the blog we were torn between the Savannah campus and the Atlanta campus. Our goal was to find my hub a job before we moved (great timing for the unemployed!) however, we're still waiting on that lovely job.

Nearly a month ago we were dead set on Atlanta because of job prospects but on a warm day we went for a bike ride and realized what the heck were we thinking?! We love our little peaceful life -- bike rides, living downtown, taking strolls with our pup, lots of trees and historic goodness, only having one car between the two of us. So we switched back to team Savannah and haven't looked back....job or no job :)

We spent last weekend house hunting and found a small apartment in the historic district that is going to make for some interesting decorating (blog-worthy for sure). Can't wait to share our next adventure with you guys! And one last plug -- anyone hiring or have a job connection for a hard-working, smart, and cute man with a master's degree in public administration...hit me up!

That's the way to do it! One day my hubband and I will get up the nerve, we are still only hours away regardless...! Good luck! You couldn't possibly acquire a regret in Savannah!

I went to SCAD (in Savannah) for my BFA in photography and you won't regret it! Living downtown is wonderful. And don't worry about the job front...something will work out. Good luck. I'm jealous!

congrats on this big step - good for you. i'm from NJ and always kind of smitten with southern living - i've spent a number of vacations in charleston and just adore the history and charm and more laid back lifestyle. and all the best to your hubby on the job hunt - i've been hunting for the past 6 months and it not fun. hope it all works out asap!

Oh I am so so jealous! My husband and I have been talking about moving to Georgia for a while now, and we will someday. I would choose Savannah in a heartbeat, but the husband's office is in Atlanta. So Atlanta it is :( But I can't WAIT to see all your Savannah posts!

I go to SCAD and I read your blog everyday! What are you going to graduate school for? You should totally check out the fibers department....you will be obsessed!

Oh, you definitely made the right call! I'm from Savannah (and now live actually not too far from you in the triad area here in NC, weird) and would recommend it to anyone! I went to school in Atlanta and although there are nice spots and more city shopping it just doesn't cut it in the charm department! It does get hot, hot, hot but the oak trees, Spanish moss, and cobble stones make up for a lot of that! I would not mind returning some day! Good Luck in the job hunt. Maybe I'll check with my parents, nothing is better than good ole word of mouth.

...we visit Savannah a couple times a year (we live in Jax, FL) and it is a place that never gets old and never ceases to amaze. You will love SCAD; my good friend and her husband attended and they both rave of their time there.

Looking forward to this new chapter of your life and work.

Thank you.

Whit,
My entire family live in Atlanta or Savannah so I have spent a lot of time in both places and I hope that Dustin gets a job in Savannah because I think you two would LOVE it there (and communting it Atlanta can get really old, really quick.) I can just see the three of you walking around downtown. :-) Good luck at SCAD, I know a couple people who have gone there are L-O-V-E-D it.
