Large Format Withdrawal

Since I completed my large format class this summer, I've felt a bit incomplete in my picture taking. Though I often complained about how heavy and cumbersome the camera was, it made shooting so much more purposeful. To set-up, style, and frame the image, it took nearly 30 minutes before I could even click the shutter -- which forced me to put a enormous amount of concentration into every sheet of film. Now that I'm back to my digital camera, I snap, snap, snap more quickly and spontaneously.

Shooting.

I can't afford to purchase one of these guys right now, but it doesn't hurt to scope ebay :)

You can see a few of my photos from my large format class here and here.

I love the one of the neckalaces in the bowl with the white lace underneath. They are all gorgeous though. :)

I love large format! I finished my photo school creating a portfolio that was shot entirely with a 4x5 camera :) But this was 6 years ago, and to tell you the truth I don't even remember when was the last time I took my 4x5 out of it's box.... Digital has made us lazy :)
