Happy Twenty-Ten

After plenty of family get-togethers, and southern food goodness, the holidays have come to a close and the hub and I are now preparing for our move to NYC in less than two weeks.

I try to make personal resolutions for the year, tuck them away in my mind and revisit them when I remember but here are a few I'd like to share ...

1. Learn more complicated clothing construction and design. I started out 2009 with a similar resolution, to learn to sew better, which led me to discover my passion for clothing design and here I am headed back to fashion school. I'm excited to see where this next year takes me in my studies, I'm so eager to learn new techniques and push myself in new directions.

2. Grow and develop our little family photography business. I feel so fortunate to have found a passion and business that I can share with my hub. I can't wait to see how we grow as photographers in the next year and the many people and projects we get to photograph and be a part of in 2010.

3. Disconnect every once and awhile. Can you remember a decade ago when the internet was a smaller and fairly unexplored land. It's definitely an amazing tool but I often forget to turn it off and experience life in the physical.

4. And lastly, just live. I'm a creature of comfort, fairly shy, and not one to step out of my bubble. But by the end of this year I hoped to have tried a few more foods, made new friends, and take more risks.

You are so right about the internet. Its enriched our lives in so many ways but I also find it sooo relaxing to be able to step away from it.
