Handmade Coffee Table

We've been ready for a while to get a new coffee table so we settled on just making one for ourselves. We picked up two pieces of reclaimed wood from Build it Green NYC, a few pipes from the local hardware store and spent about an hour putting it all together.

A few in-progress shots in low-light using film.

The table came out beautifully. Plus it was so green of you. Great work!

I've been wanting to get some reclaimed wood for shelves. how much did wood of that size cost? I'm worried at times it may be costly.

there was definitely lots of wood still available -- i think they keep it stocked! and the two pieces together cost around $12

the desk in my office is very similar. it took just a few hours to assemble and despite the occasional splinter it's totally worth it. hope you're enjoying your table as much as i love my desk!

I was just looking at some old photos today, and thinking about how different they look from my digital ones. Interesting.
BTW: Cool table!

It's wonderful. My Honey is very handy, so maybe i can get him to make me one of these. Heck, maybe, I could make one myself.
