Favorite New Things

I've had time over the past few weeks, time to relax and catch up. Here are a few things that have kept me occupied.

When Ellie blogged about this book (The Art of Manipulating Fabric) weeks ago, I promptly headed to B&N and purchased it. Who knew there were so many ways to twist, ruffle, tie, and pleat fabric. Talk about eye candy.

On a recent trip to Providence, I picked up this vintage sewing manual at a thrift shop. Enough said, right?

And a little something I've been cooking up. I fell in love with this double-faced jersey knit fabric (certified organic) and had to design something to make out of it.

Good news, I'm planning on opening up my shop in a few weeks with a few summer garments! Stay tuned.

I love the woman's enormous sleeves on the cover of the sewing book. Perfect with the little bow collar.

I LOVE this book! I've had it for a while... any time I get bored I flip through it to find something new to learn.

I'm taking my first steps in sewing, but this looks like a book I must get as soon as I can fiddle a little bit more with a sewing machine
