Summer so far
Despite a few minor renovations, we finally spent the first night in our little house this past weekend. (I should really stop calling it little...it is about triple the size of our Brooklyn apartment.) Every inch of the house is being painted white so we still can't put everything away but at least we're in.

There is this great island of trees in the front yard, if it weren't so hot and humid, I'd put a chair out there and just sit. On the right is our new front door -- I wanted something that would let in tons of light and thankfully we're not close to anyone so privacy is not an issue.

The pup is ready to have things in order, he's ready for a couch to sleep on :) This gives you an idea of the painting...the never-ending paint job. Check out those chairs in the background, we scored those for $15 a piece!

Our bedroom is the one completed room and it's so quite at night, the hub is insisting we put up a ceiling fan for a little noise. And here I am in the master (HALF) bath..why would you ever leave out the shower?! But the blue tile is original and growing on me.

I'm finding time to do some work, I'm making custom bridesmaid dresses for an awesome client that designed the fabric. Yes, those are raccoons. OH and check out the cattle. The pup hates those guys, but they don't seem to notice.

White, everything is going to be white.

My hub working away. We scored this awesome antique dresser a few weeks ago. At first I wanted to refinish it, but once again, the blue is growing on me. New knobs are in order though.
So that's my life over the past couple of weeks....well that and a few awesome weddings we recently photographed. But so far, so good, so awesome. I'm really getting sucked back in to the southern way of life, now if only it weren't so hot.

I love your dog, I want one!
Wonderful space. Oh how lovely. Hope you guys have tons of fun decorating and making the place your very own cozy, darling space.
I have the same chairs!... but I paid quite a bit more for them in Brooklyn, haha. Can't wait to see the finished space!
I am so envious of all the natural light in your new place! It looks like its really coming along, and that dress is swoon worthy just the way it is (although new knobs would be nice :) .)
That scenery totally becomes you. It's almost like Darling Dexter has always lived in the countryside. You're going to totally thrive in that serene enviornment. You'll have to update often so we can see all the progress you make.
looks perfect!
your new home looks so lovely and peaceful! and your pup is sooo adorable!!!!
Wow, look at all that gorgeousness! So lovely. Jealous of that dresser find! :)
Your house is beautiful!
feeling super happy for you and jealous at the same time. And I can assure you... it's most likely just as hot here in NYC today as it is in the south!
i actually really like the blue + wooden knobs. though maybe a touch darker blue & possibly darker stained knobs.
oh my your house is looking so great!! and yes, that doggy is just too sweet!!! take care! twiggs
It looks beautiful already!!! I have to admit, I am a little bit jealous. It's always been my dream to live in the South. Sounds absolutely incredible!
Oh cant wait to see the wedding dresses! And that house of yours - keep all of us bloggers updated! the least i can say is that im honestly super geolous! ( how do you spell that..?!? )
Looks like you guys found a really nice place to live. The scenery seems to be beautiful and someday your doggie will get used to the cattle too. LOL
It's lots of work to get a home painted and furnished but by your pictures I can tell, you are on your way to get done.
Hope you will post more pictures of your house and the area soon.
Now what regards the heat and the humidity here in the south, you might like to spend a few days here in the Houston area to get a real idea what humidity is. LOL
Best wishes
Paula Jo
The two things that stand out most in the post to me are the 2 blues....Bathroom yes- the blue tile looks great with crisp white caulking and it looks like it is in great condition.
The indigo blue on the dresser is fantastic. I am planning a wedding at the moment with indigo and mint. The walls of the ballroom at the same indigo. It has inspired me to paint a wall in my guest room this color.
Keep the BLUES!
Oh my goodness, your dog is so cute. It's hard to focus on the other pictures after seeing that pic! Congrats on your new wedding collection!
