Lately

I couldn't be happier with the kind words I've received in response to my bridal collection. It's been a bit of whirlwind, but I'm so glad to have everything out there and now I'm already knee deep into the next collection due out early spring. You may have noticed one minor bit on my new website -- that I'm based out of North Carolina. That's because the hub and I have sort of, kind of, decided to move back more permanently to the land of the pines. Spending the summer in the farmhouse kind of sealed the deal for us. Amazing what a little peace and quiet can do for you.

So yeah, we're transitioning back to a tiny town in western NC for now with thoughts of moving somewhere a little more metro within the state when the time is right. The hub and I plan to continue working up and down the east coast just like before, no changes there. We're looking forward to expanding the states we shoot in, so all east coasters, we're looking at you.

(kayaking the new river)

We've been in the little farmhouse for the whole summer and we just recently furnished it, so I can't wait to share photos once things get into place. It's cute, it's simple, and it's perfect, for now :)

I totally understand the draw of the country. Western North Carolina is gorgeous (I am in Asheville pretty regularly). All the best with your new home base and the bridal collection!

Whitney, move to Winston-Salem! Beautiful old houses for reasonable prices, a thriving artist community, access to mountains and beach, a lovely downtown, and low cost of living. If you decide to make your way here, let me know, and I'll hook you up with a stellar real estate agent who knows about lots of rentals. She works magic.

PS I was the maid of honor in Kelly and Brian's wedding last year. So happy for your collection and move back South!

I am so jealous of people who live in the countryside! I definitely want to own a little house in the woods someday. I can't wait to see pictures of yours!

What a beautiful post! I love those photos, they seem so relaxing, especially the last one. Congrats on the bridal collection! I have been reading your blog for a long time, but have never commented. However, I felt the need to tell you that I love your attitude in this post: that life and places are ever evolving. It was also such an inspiration to me to watch and follow along while you guys moved from Savannah to NYC and now to North Carolina all to follow your artistic dreams, just amazing. Keep posting on the blog!

And if I wasn't already married, I would totally have you guys come shoot my wedding. :)
