Favorite New Things

I've had time over the past few weeks, time to relax and catch up. Here are a few things that have kept me occupied.

When Ellie blogged about this book (The Art of Manipulating Fabric) weeks ago, I promptly headed to B&N and purchased it. Who knew there were so many ways to twist, ruffle, tie, and pleat fabric. Talk about eye candy.

On a recent trip to Providence, I picked up this vintage sewing manual at a thrift shop. Enough said, right?

And a little something I've been cooking up. I fell in love with this double-faced jersey knit fabric (certified organic) and had to design something to make out of it.

Good news, I'm planning on opening up my shop in a few weeks with a few summer garments! Stay tuned.

Pravina Studio

I tend to gravitate toward stylish yet non-fussy handbags -- so this tote below by Pravina Studio would be my ideal. I love the clean lines and deep shade of gray.

Summer Break

I'm still here, I promise. I just wrapped up classes and feel awesome. Summer is officially here -- I'm not in complete relaxation mode though, the hub and I just kicked off our busy wedding season and are pretty much going strong until the fall. But trust me, that's great news.

The past semester at Parsons was so rewarding and I can't wait to experiment this summer on my own. I'm trying to not be overly ambitious but I'm hoping to open my shop back up soon, yay! Here's a small peek of a few things I've been up to...

Floor to Ceiling Bookshelves

I definitely don't see us having a library in our home anytime soon but we recently signed a lease (yay!) and will be moving to a brownstone in Brooklyn next month and I've already started grabbing photos for inspiration. I'd love to have built-ins like the photo below -- having all of our books, records, and notebooks in a central location.
