I've been spending the past couple of days taking classes at Alt for Everyone. I've never had the opportunity to attend the conference in person so this online version has been perfect. Some of my favorite classes have been taught by this lady, oh and this one! 

I wish I could say that I've been making incredible progress in my showroom but it was being painted all week and I've been knee deep in dress orders. I'm adding a new store in Pittsburg (Glitter and Grit) and had several rush orders pop up so my fingers have been sewing away!

The hub and I are headed even further into western North Carolina, outside Asheville, this weekend to photograph an intimate wedding in the mountains that should be fun! So I hope you have a relaxing..or productive..or calm..or whatever you prefer weekend!

It's something that I've wanted to do for some time but a few things held me back...the overhead, the fact that I don't live in a more populated area, and lack of promising physical space. Earlier in the year I thought I had found the perfect space and planned to open this spring but it just didn't feel right, so I passed on it -- and then all of a sudden this cute, tiny, historic, charming space fell right into my lap and I couldn't pass it up. 

I love selling online, it allows me to connect and share my work with people all over the world but sometimes I long for that face to face contact. My participation in The Big Day event reaffirmed this desire. However, I do love working from home (especially now that I have a daughter), so I've decided to keep the production side of things put and branch out with a showroom space for brides (and their maids) in the region to come see my dresses in person.

Now that I've gotten my space, I'm planning on opening up (by appointment only) in June! So feel free to contact me to setup a time to try on dresses! The shop is in lovely little downtown Wilkesboro, NC which is located in the northwestern part of the state -- only 1.5 hours from Charlotte...1 hour from Winston Salem...2 hours from Raleigh/Chapel Hill/Durham...1.5 hours from Asheville!
