Although we still have a few more purchases and a few rearrangements to make in our apartment before it feels complete, here is a little peek of the progress so far. Like I've mentioned before, we chose to go with a sublease to help us transition to the city better and give us the time to decide where we really wanted to live. I say we live in a studio apartment but it's technically an alcove.
Our front windows are south-facing so we have amazing natural light, oh, and being on the 4th floor helps. But it's really awesome...we haven't even turned on our heat yet.

So our bed is in the same space as our living area but thankfully the hub and I are usually on the same sleeping schedule. We went with a low lying bed to help it look less massive in such a small place and of course the pup likes this, he can actually jump on the bed now and snooze.

Below is my work area, which starting next week, will be used much more often (I start school on Mon). I need to get a rug so my sewing machine won't disturb my neighbors below.

When we decided on this apartment we knew storage space would be an issue so we chose to build upon the ikea storage system we bought for our closet in Savannah. We bought the drawer units and a few shelves to use as a desk and voila...a perfect, cheap, and space-saving solution.

So that's it for now. We're still working on our kitchen and figuring out the remaining details. Who knows if we'll decide to stay in this place -- those multiple flights of stairs may get old after awhile :)
