@home vintage general: house tour

Liz Demos, owner of @Home Vintage General in downtown Savannah, displayed her home for the SCAD Tour of Homes..and wow. If you've ever had the chance to step inside her store you'd probably not be too surprised at how darling her house is. What a perfect Savannah home -- a wonderful blend of vintage and freshness :) Look at that baby backyard!

Living/Dining/Sewing Room

I finally have everything in place in our "main" room. Before we moved in, the wall separating the dining & living rooms was torn down...thank goodness...our couch would not have been able to fit!livingroom1We found out quickly during the move-in process that our couch was only going in one place (between the two fireplaces) so we had to decorate around that. I have a large wooden table that I use for "making" that has also taken on the role as dining room table.

livingroom9What I wouldn't give to paint our massive brick fireplace -- right now it really stands out but until we know we are going to be here for a little while longer, I can't bring myself to buy the supplies.

All in all, we like the space. Despite crooked walls and floors and a lack of windows (we're in a duplex) -- it can be quite cosy :)

Shout out to the home state..

Have you been following the Small Cool 2009 contest over at Apartment Therapy? I'm loving this tiny home currently battling it out that hails from Raleigh, NC. Makes me want to drop 300 square feet and move to a studio apartment -- is all that extra space really necessary anyway?

The Little Bedroom

Our bedroom fits all you can see in the photo below ... a bed and two small night-stands. We don't mind, it's very peaceful and although we can't quite shut the door because the bed is in the way it's the perfect place to rest :) Oh and read too...it has wonderful natural light.

Wall Collections

I love the idea of wall collections -- displaying your finest in multiples. I've been working on my own plate collection, what about you?

Pin-up Space

I'm trying to figure out a good place to pin-up. Do you keep a wall of inspiration? I'm interested to see how my pin-up space may shift as I begin focus on my graduate studies in photography...so my area could mimic something below..

Or I could make a pin-up board somewhere around my closet vanity -- posting this and that, like below..

Or move it to my sewing nook by our all-purpose dining room table to encourage my sewing resolution for the year..

Clothing Closet: Oh so vanity

So my kitchen doesn't have cabinets -- and the bedrooms don't have closets. And if you follow my daily wear series you know that I have a "few" items of clothes. So to solve the dilemma, we turned one of our tiny bedrooms to a walk-in closet, complete with my own little vanity. I've even set up shop with my laptop and love my new little office :)
