Tomorrow is First Friday

For those of you in the Raleigh area, tomorrow night (as you may know) is First Friday! Every first Friday of the month several art galleries and studios in downtown throw an "Open House" called First Friday. It is a great opportunity to check out some cool artwork.
This is a particulary special First Friday because my old employer, Holly Aiken, is opening her doors for her annual "Holiday Open House"! It looks like she'll have some new designs out and is also hosting other great designers in her store for the evening.

OH how I love design.

The internet is my playground when it comes to finding fresh designers and “This is Swigg” just happens to be one of them. I love what’s happening in this studio: the colors, creativity, and limitless solutions. It is very inspirational to see the range of services and possibilities.

Alicia Bock

I found some of the most beautiful photographs while I was scanning Modishoppe. Alicia Bock creates beautiful compositions with rich color palettes, using things like flowers and organic objects. I got a taste of her work on modishoppe, then clicked to her website and found so many more wonderful things to look at! It's always so soothing to find an artist that has a peaceful and calming aesthetic.

the yumi yumi shop

Another great ETSY find!

I stumbled across the yumi yumi shop on etsy and found very cute and interesting pieces of artwork. I loved the color combinations and clever compositions. You might have noticed that I'm a sucker for anything with birds!

Joom

Here is a great Etsy find ... Joom creates lovely pillows, stationary and more! Her designs use a nice color palette and I love her use of birds in the compositions, check it out!
