Lovely white blouse

My internet was out all day today! Tragic, right? When things like that happen I like to think of it as a blessing in disguise...someone is saying "step away from the glowing screen and strech your legs." So anyway...

Here's my latest sewing venture -- a white & blue polka dot blouse. I am slowly progressing on my new year's resolution.

gingham & warm weather

I'm currently in love with the 10-day weather forecast...80's all the way. Perfect for my latest sewing project -- a blue/white gingham skirt. Anyone else have any spring sewing projects?

Little grey dress

While I was picking out fabric for my apron, I also got a few yards to make a dress -- a little grey dress :) I modified simplicity pattern 2725 and love the results! Just wish the temp would jump a few degrees so I can wear it.

Anyone know a good resource for dress forms? I believe I'm ready for that next purchase...

Styling new apron..

Inspired by the delicious goodies I picked up at the bakery this weekend, I decided to perfect my buttercream cupcakes in style and made myself an apron. Love it!

Building back my confidence ... one shirt at a time

To follow my last failure of a shirt, I went with a much simpler pattern to build back my confidence as a seamstress. Though simple, I still love this Built by You shirt -- lovely!

Unsuccessful

I spent several hours working on a shirt this weekend...and failed! Not sure what went wrong - I came to a point in the pattern when I couldn't understand what to do next and unsuccessfully pressed on. A bit of a disappointment, I really liked the fabric and style of shirt but I suppose I'll just try again. Better luck next time!

Sew, Sew, Sew...

So I went for the serger -- and thank goodness, definitely makes sewing much cleaner and faster. I've churned out two projects so far. This Built by Wendy dress and tank top of my own design.

oh, and I got bangs :)
