I'm not sure how it happened. But over the last year and a half, the hub and I launched a full-time photography business and have traveled the east coast meeting and photographing some of the nicest, awesome-est, and most genuine people. 

Please excuse my sappy-ness. But I can't help it. I feel so fortunate to share my work with my hub...we do it all together and it feels crazy. Crazy good. Moving to New York in January knowing very few people but somehow, people trusted in us to photograph them.

I try to keep our photography work over on our other blog, but I thought I'd share a few of my favorites from the past few weeks.

Several months ago, I found this blue floral fabric at a thrift store in Providence, RI. I placed it in my pile of fabric remnants and quickly forgot about it. But I was recently in the mood to make myself a comfy, day dress...something light-weight and with big pockets. My vintage blue fabric was perfect.

The fabric itself is some type of poly-silk blend ... but I love how cool it feels especially during this extreme heat we've been having.

I'm cleaning up my little studio space so I can work on a few new things for fall,  so a sale is in order for the remaining summer pieces! Just a few pieces remain, all in size small, and are marked down 20%. Get'em while they're there folks, I won't be making these pieces again.

The hub and I photographed a story for the most recent issue of Nonpareil Magazine. It was Mad Men themed and gorgeous. Period.

I'm so excited to finally have a shop update again! and I'm also excited because I made the switch from etsy to bigcartel. So you can find the link to my new shop here. I'm putting the final touches on each piece and they will be available beginning June 14th (12pm EST).

I'm still here, I promise. I just wrapped up classes and feel awesome. Summer is officially here -- I'm not in complete relaxation mode though, the hub and I just kicked off our busy wedding season and are pretty much going strong until the fall. But trust me, that's great news. 

The past semester at Parsons was so rewarding and I can't wait to experiment this summer on my own. I'm trying to not be overly ambitious but I'm hoping to open my shop back up soon, yay! Here's a small peek of a few things I've been up to...

Right before I posted my previous entry about navy -- my mom, coincidentally, stuck two blue fabrics in the mail to me as a surprise. I've been so busy with school, I haven't had much of a chance to sew anything for myself lately so I used this past week to make myself a navy spring shirt. It could use a few tweeks but I'm pretty happy with the outcome.
